Warning messages? Engine check light on? We can help.

Pivotal Automotive provides mobile vehicle diagnostics across Nelson, Richmond and the wider Tasman region. We help you work out what’s going on using professional scan tools, electrical testing equipment, hands-on inspection, and vehicle information.

Some faults can be identified quickly, while others need further testing. We’ll explain what we find clearly and talk you through the next step before any extra work is carried out.

We come to you and scan your vehicle’s computer systems using professional diagnostic equipment

From there, we interpret the fault data and vehicle information to determine the most likely cause of the issue.

Depending on what is found, we can sometimes resolve issues on the spot, or discuss a clear plan to rectify the problem if further work is required.

Each diagnostic appointment includes up to one hour of on-site investigation.

If additional time is required, we will discuss what we have found so far and advise the next steps before proceeding.

From $149 (up to 1 hour)
$115 per hour thereafter, with your authorisation.

Please note: some very modern vehicles are not able to connect with our scan tool due to manufacturer restrictions. If this is the case, we will not charge you if we cannot help.
